Tengai is an interview robot and recruitment assistant. Companies use Tengai to replace person-to-person interviews, which helps them minimise bias as well as increase recruitment efficiency. During interviews, the Tengai robot listens, talks and its face reacts to candidates as they speak. The robot is impressive, although it is just part of a larger recruitment system where much of the magic happens behind the scenes.
Recruitment professionals interact with the system through a web-based app called Tengai Recruit. When we helped design this app, we wanted it to extend the futuristic and friendly experience of interacting with the robot. Here are some key design concepts we helped bring to life:
Remarkable reports
To find the right candidate, a recruiting company needs a report where all candidates that have been interviewed are listed and ranked. These automated reports are the most important output of the Tengai recruitment system. Together with the Tengai team, we worked hard on making the reports beautiful as well as functional.
Staying on track
When recruiting, all candidate interviews need to be scheduled, completed and reviewed. Recruitment professionals need to keep an eye on the overall progress of an assignment, as well as be able to dive into the details of specific interviews.
Keeping it iconic
Even though recruiters don’t use the robot hardware much, it is still the most iconic experience of the Tengai system. We wanted the web app to maintain the presence of the interview robot and to extend its aesthetics. This way, recruiters can feel that they are working with a powerful system that spans hardware and software.
